MTA Chapters Around the State
The Maine Trappers Assoc. has twelve chapters around the state. They are listed below. If you'd like information on a chapter, please go to the CONTACT US page and send a message, or email the contact listed below (if there is one).  They all welcome new members.
Aroostook County -
meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Aroostook Farm in Presque Isle. Pot Luck Supper at every meeting, 6PM

Capitol Area -  New Location
meets monthly at  the Sidney Biologist Station on Lyons Rd  in Sidney (exit 120, I-95) on the last Wednesday of the month, 6:30PM. 576.7598 or EMAIL.

Central Coastal -
meets monthly at the Wiscasset Rod & Gun Club on Rt 27 in Wiscasset,  last Sunday of each month, 7:00 PM. James Arsenault is contact person.  (email us for phone #)

Central Maine -
Has a new meeting place. We are now meeting at the Palmyra Community Center on Route 2, just up from the town hall. Meetings are on the first Thursday of the month, 8 months of the year (not Nov, June, July, Jan) & the Oct. meeting is a picnic held at a different location). Always a raffle, and a pot luck supper. Meeting starts at 7PM, pot luck starts at 6:00.

DownEast -
meets every month on the 3rd Wednesday at the Princeton Town Office or Woodland Fire Station. Contact John H. Sewell, 427.3092, e-mail

Katahdin -


Kennebec Valley -
Meets on the 2nd Sunday every month at Gary Rogers in Solon. Contact Bob Abbott in Madison 696.5388

Northern Coastal -
meets monthly, 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00PM at the Goose River Grocery, Swan Lake Ave, Belfast. Call Doug LIttlefield, 322.2432 for info. They'd welcome new members.

Southern Aroostook -
meets monthly, location moves around between 3 different towns (Island Falls, Sherman areas)

York County -
meets on the second Sunday of each month, 6 PM, at the North Berwick Rod & Gun Club

Union River -
meets in Ellsworth at the Ellsworth City Hall on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM.  To join the chapter, call Paul Favolise, 483.4779.

Western Maine Chapter -
There is a new chapter in the Western Maine area. We meet 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Legion Hall in Kezar Falls West –Day Post 123.  We are just getting started but we are doing very well with 10 to 20 attending each meeting.  All trappers are welcome to come over.

Carrabasset Valley Trappers Club -
This club is not a chapter, but all of it's members are MTA members, most of them Lifetime. They meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 6:00PM at Jerry's LeBeaus  in North Anson. At each meeting there is a raffle, a buffet and usually a guest speaker and a demo.
